Nature and purpose
Pelyr is a private, non-commercial project. It operates Pelyr Stream, a live AIS WebSocket API, and Pelyr Network, a community terrestrial receiver network. Its purpose is to make maritime data available for informational and situational-awareness purposes through this website and Pelyr Stream.
VAT and trade information
As a private, non-commercial project, the operator is not registered for VAT and holds no trade licence (Gewerbeberechtigung) in connection with this project. A VAT identification number (UID) is therefore not available.
Data protection
Information on how personal data is processed is set out in our Privacy Policy. The terms governing use of the live data stream are in the Pelyr API Terms.
Liability for content
The contents of this website have been prepared with the greatest possible care. However, we do not guarantee that the content is accurate, complete or up to date. As a service provider, we are responsible for our own content on these pages in accordance with general law; we are not obliged to monitor transmitted or stored third-party information or to investigate circumstances that indicate unlawful activity.
Maritime (AIS) data is broadcast publicly by vessels and collected from third-party sources. It is provided for information only, may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate, and must not be used as a basis for navigation or for any decision affecting the safety of life or property. It is not a substitute for equipment or procedures required under SOLAS, COLREG or any other applicable maritime regulation.

The content and works created by the operator on this website are subject to copyright. The “Pelyr” name, logo and design are protected. Reproduction, editing, distribution or any use beyond the limits of copyright law requires prior written consent.
The AIS data itself is not covered by this reservation. Data we receive from third-party sources is provided under the licences of those sources, which permit further use subject to attribution:
