Rewards

Points first. Pool share second.

A station does not earn a fixed amount per received message. Coverage and active global Early Points are calculated separately, then used to distribute two parts of the contributor pool.

Coverage share × 95% of pool + active Early share × 5% of pool

The two proportional results are calculated separately and then added together.

Rank points

Early, useful reception ranks highest.

For one geographic unit, qualified stations earn regular points by arrival order:

1st qualified station 100points
2nd qualified station 50points
3rd qualified station 25points
Later stations 0regular points

Early qualified contributions carry a stronger rank; additional stations in the same region do not automatically generate further regular points. Rank 3 receives 25 points. This page deliberately leaves open how a geographic unit is defined and which exact conditions qualify a station.

Global Early Contributors

The first 100 qualified contributors receive global Early Points.

The global status belongs to the contributor, not to each station. It starts when the contributor's first station is connected, sends valid AIS data, and qualifies at least one geographic unit.

Contributors 1–10 100Early Points
Contributors 11–25 50Early Points
Contributors 26–50 25Early Points
Contributors 51–100 12.5Early Points
Contributor 101+ 0Early Points

Only active and qualified Early Contributors participate in the 5% Early pool for a given month. The global status is historical; inactive Early Points simply do not count in that month's allocation.

Reward principles

Three rules shape every allocation.

One area counts once

More messages from the same qualified region do not multiply the score. What is rewarded is a useful geographic contribution — not raw data volume.

Earlier positions stay intact

A station that joins later does not automatically reduce the already-qualified rank of an earlier station.

Two proportional shares are added

Coverage Points compete within 95% of the pool. Active global Early Points compete within the remaining 5%.

coverage points ÷ all coverage points active Early Points ÷ all active Early Points
Contributor pool

One contributor pool, split 95 / 5.

The pool is divided into two proportional allocation tracks every month.

95% of the contributor pool

Coverage pool

Distributed according to each contributor's qualified Coverage Points compared with all qualified Coverage Points in the network.

5% of the contributor pool

Global Early pool

Distributed according to each active Early Contributor's points compared with all active and qualified global Early Points.

Reward notice

Rewards are variable and are not guaranteed.

Monthly rewards can change — and can be zero. Pelyr OPEN-AIS promises neither a fixed return nor a minimum payment. The final reward is the sum of the applicable coverage and global Early shares.
