From your antenna to monthly points.
Station in. Signal out. Points calculated monthly.
Four phases, one conversation at a time.
Share your station plan
Describe your existing station — or the location you have in mind for a new one. A finished build is not required for the first conversation.
Confirm the connection path
Together we check whether your receiver, gateway and data format can connect to the contributor network.
Forward terrestrial AIS data
Your station transmits its live received AIS stream over a monitored connection. No specific proprietary receiver brand is required.
Receive a monthly allocation
Your qualified coverage determines a share of the 95% coverage pool. Active global Early Points can add a separate share of the 5% Early pool.
Start from the station you have — or the one you plan.
Existing station
What we look at together before connecting:
- Receiver output
- Gateway connection
- Station details
- Possible network link
- Existing AIS feeds can stay active
New station
What a new build needs:
- AIS-capable receiver
- Suitable VHF antenna
- Gateway
- Internet connection
- A sensible location
Pelyr OPEN-AIS participation is non-exclusive. You remain free to send your AIS stream to other platforms at the same time.
Five stations, one stream.
AIS broadcast
A vessel transmits a VHF AIS signal.
Your station
Your local station receives the signal.
Station feed
The received data is forwarded as one connected stream.
Processing
The network processes the stream and derives your geographic contribution.
Monthly points
The result feeds into the monthly point and pool calculation.
Reception, and one stable station feed.
Processing, scoring, and the monthly point calculation.
Four things people ask first.
Private individuals can contribute.
No company or club membership is required to take part.
More messages do not automatically mean more points.
Repeated traffic from the same relevant region does not raise the score by itself.
Rewards are variable.
Your monthly reward depends on both pool shares and on the whole network.
Your connection is non-exclusive.
You can keep forwarding the same AIS stream to other platforms while contributing to Pelyr OPEN-AIS.
Points, ranks, and one shared pool.
The rewards page explains the 100 / 50 / 25 coverage ranks, the global Early-Contributor tiers, and the 95 / 5 pool split.
